Bentley has announced Luc Donckerwolke will replace Dirk van Braeckel as the brand's design director.

Donckerwolke began his career as an exterior designer for Audi in 1992. He eventually worked on models from SEAT, Skoda and Lamborghini. Speaking of the latter, Donckerwolke played a role in helping to develop the styling for the Gallardo and Murcielago.

In a statement, Volkswagen head of design Walter de Silva said "Luc Donckerwolke brings a wealth of design talent to Bentley. His extensive experience makes him the ideal person to take forward Bentley's future design language, at a time when the company has significant plans for new models."
