Hennessey has developed an upgrade program for the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe, powered by a 1,226 hp V8 7.0-liter engine.
Hennessey is perhaps one of the most ambitious tuners in the world if we take into consideration the cars they’ve built so far, such as the 1,000 hp Venom GT or the CTS-V Coupe. Their latest project is just as impressive and it’s based on the latter, only this time the V8 7.0-liter aluminum engine pumps out an impressive 1,226 hp (914 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 1,109 lb-ft (1501 Nm) at 4,000 rpm.
With so much power available, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it takes just 2.9 seconds to do the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint, topping out at 242 mph (389 km/h). The quarter mile is performed in 10.2 seconds at 141 mph (227 km/h), which allows John Hennessey to believe that the car is faster than the upcoming Bugatti Galibier, another car with more than 1,000 hp. He is willing to demonstrate the top speed of the car on VW's high speed circuit at Ehra-Leissen to prove Bugatti’s CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer the impressive performance of this heavily modified CTS-V Coupe.
Hennessey plans on making only 12 units of this beast, but the good news is that the tuner will offer this VR1200 package for CTS-V sedans and wagons as well.
