Our spies have already snapped pictures of the 2013 Insignia OPC / VXR and now comes word an even hotter variant could be in the works.
Autocar has learned engineers are looking to push the turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 engine to its limits. Nothing is official, but the magazine says the variant could offer as much as 400 hp (298 kW / 406 PS). For comparison, the standard model has an output of 321 hp (239 kW / 325 PS) and 435 Nm (321 lb-ft) of torque.
To cope with the extra power, the car could have a retuned suspension, enlarged brakes and a revised all-wheel drive system.
The model could be unveiled with the facelifted Insignia is introduced in 2013.
