Jaguar has announced plans to offer an all-wheel drive system on XF and XJ models equipped with the supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 340 PS (250 kW / 335 hp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.
Available in select markets (North America, Russia, China and Continental Europe), the all-wheel drive system is rear-biased and will "actively anticipate" wheel slippage. The models have also been equipped with revised suspensions and steering systems to improve their driving dynamics.
According to Jaguar's Vehicle Line Director Ian Hoban, "Our all-wheel drive system preserves all the dynamic qualities of our rear-wheel drive Jaguar saloons in terms of handling, steering quality and ride refinement while adding a new depth of ability in low-grip conditions. The system delivers all the traction benefits you would expect, but the AWD XF and XJ are still very rewarding cars to drive - which was exactly our intention."
