Speedhunters has teamed up with KW to create a Toyota GT-86 drift car which they've named 86X. The project consisted of 37 of work and the vehicle took part in the Gatebil drift competition that was organized in Norway recently, while in the near future it will tour the European continent with Fredric Aasbø behind the wheel. Under the hood there's an entirely different engine in the form of a Toyota Supra 2JZ-GTE power unit.
As far as the styling is concerned, this Toyota 86X comes with a TRA Kyoto 6666 Customs GT Rodeo Special Rocket Bunny wide bodykit fender conversion while the paint finish is the work of Ås Technical University. There are two engine choices for this tuned GT-86, with both of them being the aforementioned 2JZ-GTE units. One of them delivers 640 hp (477 kW / 648 PS), while the other one is a 3.4-liter version with 800 hp (596 kW / 811 PS) and 737 lb.-ft. (1000 Nm).
The Toyota 86X comes with an ACT custom flywheel and an Advanced Clutch Technology (ACT) triple disc race, while the four-speed transmission comes from Mid Valley. The rear axle is the work of The Drivershaft Shop and the suspension was offered by KW, along with other drift-specific components.
Other features of this drift car include the FIA seats, a GS Performance steering wheel, Takata FIA harnesses, automatic circuit breaker setup, custom dashboard switches, a throttle pedal assembly and a custom steering column.
