Skoda's sales and marketing boss has confirmed plans to offer a Rapid hatchback.

Jürgen Stackmann told Autocar the model will be shorter than the sedan and have styling inspired by the Vision D concept. However, he hinted the rear end's styling will echo the Volkswagen Golf.

Besides taking about the hatchback, Stackmann said there won't be a three-door Rapid because the company doesn't think there would be enough sales to justify its development and production costs.
