Modestly disguised, the model closely resembles the Paceman concept that was introduced at 2011 North American International Auto Show. As such, it features a sloping roofline, an upward sweeping shoulder line and a unique tailgate.

Engine options will likely carryover from the Countryman, so expect petrol choices to include a 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 122 PS (90 kW / 120 hp), a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 184 PS (135 kW / 181 hp) and a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 218 PS (160 kW / 215 hp) in the John Cooper Works variant.

The MINI Paceman could be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in September, so expect to learn more in the coming months.
