The all-new 2013 Land Rover Range Rover has been caught uncovered for the first time. The new SUV has been spotted numerous times over the last year but until now it has always been heavily disguised.

But now we can for the first time see how Land Rover has decided to style the incredibly popular luxury vehicle thanks to a spyshot taken in what looks to be their Gaydon factory. There’s more than a hint of Evoque about the front end, with slimmer, swept back headlights and a low bonnet line. From what we can see of the back end it retains the Range Rover’s boxy rear, but with a slightly lower roof line.

This new Range Rover is based on an aluminium platform, loosely based on that of the Jaguar XJ. This should bring the weight of the SUV down considerably over the current model, with rumours placing the weight loss around 500kg. This will bring considerable benefits in performance, economy and emissions.

The 2013 Range Rover will be officially unveiled at the Paris Motor Show this September.
