Suzuki has quietly unveiled a facelifted Escudo (aka Grand Vitara) in Japan.

Modestly updated, the model gains a new front bumper, a revised grille and tinted headlights. Out back, the spare tire has been jettisoned from the tailgate and presumably relocated underneath the vehicle.

While the exterior benefits from a host of changes, the cabin appears largely untouched. However, we can expect to see updated upholstery.

In Japan, the model is powered by a 2.4-liter engine that produces 166 PS (122 kW / 164 hp) and 225 Nm (166 lb-ft) of torque. It can be connected to a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, all-wheel drive is optional.
