According to a recent report, Aston Martin has resumed work on a crossover that will eventually battle the production version of the Bentley EXP 9 F.
When Aston Martin introduced the Lagonda concept at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, the response was overwhelmingly negative. A few months later, production plans were put on "indefinite hold" due to difficult economic conditions.
Now, Inside Line is reporting development work has resumed on a crossover that will eventually battle the production version of the Bentley EXP 9 F. It will reportedly be based on the Mercedes GL-Class and be available with a 6.0-liter V12 as well as a variety of smaller Mercedes-sourced engines. The company hasn't decided if the model will be sold as an Aston Martin or a Lagonda, but it will feature a new design so hopefully the second time is the charm.
