Volvo S60 Polestar showcased on video for first time

The first pictures and details were released last month but today marks the first oppotyunity for WCF readers to see the model in action.

Volvo have high hopes for the S60 Polestar Concept that has previews a direct rival to the BMW M3 and Mercedes C 63 AMG. The first pictures and details were released last month but today marks the first oppotyunity for WCF readers to see the model in action.

The S60 Polestar pumps 508hp (379kW/515PS) and 575Nm (424lb-ft) of torque to the wheels from its turbocharged Volvo T6 inline-six engine via a manual 6-speed gear box and the XWD (cross-wheel-drive) system. It enables the sedan to thrust from standstill to 100kph(62mph) in just 3.9 seconds which would easily see the model defeat its chief rivals.

However as we know, a true premium sports car is more than just straight line speed. The video above gives an early look of the driving dynamics of the model and for those of you that understand the Swedish lingo, there is a bit of commentary from the test driver.
