Spectacular Hot Wheels Double Dare Loop at X Games [video]

Team Hot Wheels drivers, Tanner Foust and Greg Tracy set a Guinness World Record for racing two vehicles through a 60-foot-tall double vertical loop at the 2012 X Games in Los Angeles.

The magnitude of the stunt was a bit more spectacular than the recent Top Gear double loop stunt which saw an open-wheeled buggy vehicle run two consecutive loops.

Modeled after the 1:64 scale Hot Wheels toy sets, the life-sized version exerted a force of 7 G's on Foust and Tracy as they completed their side by side loops at a speed of 52 mph. To add more excitement to the stunt, both loops merged into a single track at the bottom exit.

According to Simon Waldron, Mattel's vice president of marketing, "Boys of all ages around the world imagine playing with Hot Wheels on a life-size scale - and our vision with Team Hot Wheels was to transform this fantasy into reality."
