Jaguar has unveiled an F-Type prototype at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Driven up the hill by Mike Cross, the sports car was shown topless for the first time. While we can't see much of the interior, the model will feature a power-deployable rear spoiler and two integrated roll bars.

According to Cross, "The development program is right on schedule, and coming here today to showcase just a little of the dynamic precision, noise, speed and excitement that the production F-Type will exhibit is very satisfying. The reaction of the crowd has been fantastic - I'd like to keep running it up the hill all day!"

As we have previously reported, the F-Type will be unveiled in production guise later this year. It will be offered with a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 380 PS (279 kW / 375 hp) and 460 Nm (339 lb-ft) of torque. There will also be a supercharged V8 which could produce up to 550 PS (405 kW / 542 hp).
