Bugatti chief vehicle engineer Jens Schulenburg has revealed the company has begun working on a Veyron successor.

Little is known about the model, but Schulenburg said "The big challenge on the next car will be reducing weight - we are looking at some incredible technologies, such as wheels made entirely from carbon fiber. Hybrids are definitely something we're looking at, too."

It remains unclear when the model will be launched, but it will likely debut sometime after the Galibier goes into production in 2014 or 2015.
