Chevrolet has announced the 2013 Malibu will be priced from $23,150 - including a $760 destination charge - in the United States.
The entry-level Malibu LS will feature a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 197 hp (147 kW / 200 PS) and 191 lb-ft (259 Nm) of torque. The engine will also be standard in the Malibu LT and LTZ. However, the latter two models can be equipped with an optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 259 hp (193 kW / 263 PS) and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque. They will be priced from $27,710 and $30,925 when they go on sale this fall.
Despite the modest price tag, the Malibu LS comes nicely equipped with air conditioning, power windows / locks, Bluetooth connectivity and a six-speaker audio system. Moving up to the Eco, LT and LTZ adds an infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control and ice-blue ambient lighting. The range-topping LTZ has all the aforementioned equipment as well as leather seats and unique exterior styling.
