Volvo and their official performance partner Polestar have presented the Volvo S60 Polestar performance concept car. The pre-production model that is set to fight against formidable rivals such as the BMW M3 and Mercedes C 63 AMG.

It packs a highly impressive 508hp (379kW/515PS) and 575Nm (424lb-ft) of torque from its turbocharged Volvo T6 inline-six engine with power passed to the wheels via a reinforced close ratio manual 6-speed gear box and the Haldex Gen4 XWD (cross-wheel-drive) system. It enables the sedan to thrust from standstill to 100kph(62mph) in just 3.9 seconds before arriving at a top speed in excess of 300kph(186mph).

Visual differences over the standard S60 include a modified front bumper while the rear bumper has been modified to incorporate the Ferrita 3.5-inch stainless steel exhaust system. The interior features a set of Polestar seats along with a slightly lowered dashboard that better integrates the gear-lever ergonomics.

Full details of the concept can be found in the press release below.
