The Renault Zoe has set a new electric vehicle record for traveling the longest distance in 24 hours.

During an event at the Aubevoye technical center, a Zoe was able to travel 1,618 km (1,005 miles) which beat the previous record by 338 km (210 miles). In order to achieve this impressive feat, the Zoe was "fast charged" so the batteries would be 80% replenished in less than thirty minutes. Despite this, the model had to be recharged 18 times in 24 hours.

As we have previously reported, the Zoe features an electric motor that produces 88 hp (65 kW / 89 PS) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the model to hit a top speed of 135 km/h (84 mph) and travel up to 210 km (130 miles) on a single charge.
