General Motors has teased the all-new 2013 Chevrolet Spin as an entry-level MPV for its growing portfolio of global vehicles. Meanwhile, spy photos showing the Spin completely uncovered and close up have surfaced.

Positioned below the larger Chevrolet Orlando, the Spin will launch in Brazil later this month followed by Indonesia in 2013. Additional markets will be announced at a later date.

Although full details are being held for the vehicle's market launch, the Chevrolet Spin will be available as a five or seven seater. GM says it is the only vehicle in its segment to offer a six-speed automatic transmission.

The announcement of the all-new model was made by GM Chief Executive Officer Dan Akerson at the company's Annual Meeting in Detroit. "Spin is a great-looking, efficient and functional small MPV, and the only vehicle in its class to offer a six-speed automatic transmission," said Akerson. "Spin will be affordable to purchase and - just as important - affordable to own."

The Chevrolet spin will be built at GM's Bekasi plant in West Java, Indonesia starting in early 2013.
