A year and a half after its debut at the Detroit Auto Show in 2011, Buick has released initial specifications of the turbocharged version of the 2013 Buick Verano.

Powered by a direct injection Ecotec 2.0L turbo engine, the Verano Turbo produces 250 hp (187 kW / ) and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque - 20 hp and 35 lb-ft less than the Regal GS which also uses the same engine. 0-60 mph in the compact luxury sedan arrives in an estimated 6.2 seconds. A six-speed automatic transmission or six-speed manual will be available.

Fuel economy figures and pricing will be announced closer to the market launch later this year.
