Toyota Motorsport GmbH has unveiled the EV P002, ahead of its debut at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on July 8th.

Essentially an updated version of the EV P001, the Radical-based race car features a 42 kWh lithium-ceramic battery that powers two electric motors that develop a combined output of 476 PS (350 kW / 469 hp) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque - an increase of 95 PS (70 kW / 94 hp) and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft). This should enable the model to hit a top speed of approximately 240 km/h (149 mph).

The car will be piloted by Japanese rally driver Fumio Nutahara and the company has high hopes for a successful race.
