Google's autonomous car gets a driving license

One of Google's Toyota Priuses has been given the first autonomous driving license in the United States.

Following the passage of an autonomous driving bill, the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles tested the car and found it safe enough to be used on public roads.

As we have previously reported, Google's autonomous driving system uses a series of video cameras and sensors to drive without human intervention.

While Google has already revealed that they are looking for automotive partners, the DMV said other "car companies" are already seeking licenses to test their own technology.
