The first prototypes of the new McLaren F1 super car successor, aka P12, have been caught by spies recently. These images have now provided the basis for automotive artist Jacek Kolodziejczyk (aka Iacoski) to create a speculative effort as to what the final model will look like.

This design speculates that the P12 will follow a similar design DNA to the brands other sports car, the MP4-12C. The rendering shows a very similar front end featuring unique headlights while the body appears wider and more aggressive than its sibling.

Under the hood, McLaren is expected to use a tuned version of the MP4-12C's 3.8-liter V8 that will be coupled with the Formula 1 derived kinetic energy recovery system (KERS). Combined power output is rumored to be around 900hp (671kW/913PS) which puts it squarely in the realm of their chief rival: the unreleased successor to the Ferrari Enzo.

Sources have stated the McLaren P12 will be shown to selected clients later this year before a world public debut is performed in Geneva next year.
