Nissan has announced plans to build an all-new hatchback in Sunderland, England.

Set to battle the Volkswagen Golf, the model will draw inspiration from the Invitation concept which was recently unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.

As part of a £127 ($201) million investment, Nissan will be able to build approximately 80,000 units annually. If everything goes according to plan, the first vehicles will roll off the assembly line in 2014.
