Ferrari is celebrating their 20th anniversary of their first sale in the Chinese market with the introduction of a special edition 458 Italia. The first ever Ferrari sold in the country was the 348 TS and it was ordered from Beijing which coincidentally is the location of the model's official unveiling.
The Ferrari 458 special edition has been inspired by Longma, which is described as a fabled winged horse with dragon scales in Chinese mythology. The thick black stripe seen running down the center of the hood is meant to symbolize a racing track and incorporates an image of the dragon.
There will only be 20 units of the special edition Ferrari 458 Italia available, all of which are reserved for the Chinese market so those that might be interested better get their order in quick.
The 20th anniversary celebrations will additionally be marked by the company with the inauguration of its brand exhibition at the Italia Center of Shanghai World Expo Park. Ferrari describes it as permanent, but it will only be in place for a total of 3 years. Exhibits are said to include some of the brand's best collections divided into to five topics: Ferrari in China, Green Technology, Product, Design and Racing.
