According to a recent report, the Jeep Liberty successor will have a 3.2-liter Pentastar V6 engine and a ZF-sourced nine-speed automatic transmission.

New details are starting to emerge about the Jeep Liberty successor.

According to Automotive News, the model will debut with a newly-developed 3.2-liter Pentastar V6 engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission. These changes should enable the crossover to be much more fuel efficient than its predecessor.

Additional information is limited, but the model could ride on the CUSW (Compact U.S. Wide) platform and be introduced at the 2013 North American International Auto Show.
