Hyundai believe the i-oniq concept will be one of the stars of the show, its a pretty strong claim when models such as the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and Lamborghini Aventador Roadster will also be in attendance. Time will tell.

Hyundai has revealed the first full image of the new i-oniq concept car that will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next week. It follows an initial teaser image that was released late last year and gives an insight into the future plans of the Korean brand.

The powertrain is described by Hyundai as innovative. The 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine is mated together with a generator and lithium ion electric motor to produce 109 PS ( 80 kW / 107 hp ). It allows the i-oniq to travel up to 700 km ( 435 miles) on just one tank with 120 km of those completed purely in electric-only mode. The CO2 emissions are rated at 45g/km.

The exterior of the i-oniq concept is both beefy and muscular and also gives an impression that there should be a more powerful engine lying under its hood. It also features a number of design elements such as a penthouse roof and LED headlights as well as a spacious cabin area.
