BMW has announced that the diesel version of the 6-Series coupe and convertible will be optionally available with the company's xDrive all-wheel-drive system. Additionally, there is also a treat in the form of a bunch of new photos showcasing the model.

The 640d generates its personality from a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo diesel engine that generates 313 PS (230 kW / 309 hp) and 630 Nm (465 lb-ft) of torque. Coupled with the xDrive all-wheel drive, it enables the coupe to accelerate from 0 -100 kph (62 mph) in 5.2 seconds.

The xDrive system distributes power between all four wheels with its Performance Control system. It enhances the dynamic performance of the vehicle - particularly effective on cornering.

The average fuel consumption of the BMW 640d xDrive Coupe stands at 5.7 – 5.8 litres per
100km / 48.7 – 49.6 mpg imp (in the EU test cycle, depending on the tyre format), while CO2 emissions are 149 – 153 grams per kilometre.
