Alfa Romeo's return to the United States has been delayed for years, but the latest reports are suggesting the Italian brand will cross the Atlantic for the 2014 North American International Auto Show.

Autocar says the company will celebrate their return by introducing the production version of the 4C in Detroit. It will reportedly use a 230 hp (172 kW / 233 PS) turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine which is connected exclusively to a dual-clutch transmission.

In related news, the publication says Alfa Romeo's future lineup will include a five-door Mito, a Spider, a Giulia sedan / wagon, a crossover and a 6C flagship. The first new model will reportedly be launched in the second half of 2013 and it will likely be the Giulia.
