Cadillac unveiled the fullsize XTS sedan towards the end of last year but it is sad to report that the General has no plans to compliment the model with a high performance XTS-V.

The source of the news comes from Don Butler, VP of marketing for Cadillac. He commented that the XTS is not a performance model as does not warrant getting a V8 powered "V" version.

He did however say that further performance enhancements could be available for the standard model that packs a 3.6-liter V6 engine generating 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS).

Cadillac is also considering a compact vehicle that would sit in the product line below the ATS and we could also be treated to a new flagship but Butler did not elaborate any more on the subject.
