Bentley airlifts a V8 Continental GT coupe over Munich [video]

Bentley is taking a page out of Mercedes' marketing play book by performing a similar helicopter airlift in Munich, Germany.

Back in 2009 we saw Mercedes-Benz airlift an SLS AMG to the top of a building in Stuttgart. Subsequently, Lamborghini did the same with the Reventon and now Bentley flew their new V8 Continental GT to the top of the fashionable SkyLounge - positioned in a bridge between two skyscrapers - for the vehicle's launch party.

Klaus Becker, General Manager of Bentley Munich, who organised the helicopter lift commented, "A dramatic car got the debut we felt it deserved and we took a little bit of our inspiration from Bentley's iconic ‘Winged B' emblem. On a practical level the helicopter was the fastest way to get to the rooftop podium."

The new V8 Continental GT and GTC models are equipped with Audi's 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 500 bhp (507 PS / 373 kW) at 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 660Nm (487 lb ft).The V8 GT can accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100kph) in 4.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 188mph (303 km/h).
