Mitsubishi has released the first image and official details for the new 2013 Outlander Crossover that will have its world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March.

Mitsubishi has released the first image and official details for the new 2013 Outlander Crossover that will have its world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March.

The European version will have a choice of two engine options for either the two-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive variants. These are the 2.0 liter MIVEC petrol and 2.2-liter MIVEC Clean Diesel which are both available with Auto Stop & Go technology as well as a new 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Following its debut, the Outlander will be launched initially in Russia before spreading throughout Europe towards the end of Summer. It will eventually head to worldwide markets in Japan, Oceania, China and North America, but specific launch dates have not been specified at this time

Europeans will also be treated to an EV-based plug-In hybrid powertrain starting in 2013 which will have a massive range of 800km as well as an excellent emissions figure of 50 g/km.
