When the Toyota Prius c debuted at the Detroit Auto Show last month they promised to keep pricing below $19K. They have proved they can keep to their word, the pricing has been announced and confirmed to start at $18,950, although this does not include the delivery and handling fee of at least $760.

The Prius c is available in four grade levels, the price stated accounts for the base level One. Those wanting additional trimmings such as improved audio and connectivity, 15-inch, 8-spoke alloy wheels or cruise control will need to upgrade to levels Two, Three or Four which start at $19,900, $21,635 and $23,230 respectively. Sales for the 2012 Prius c will begin in March 2012.
