Today at the Chicago Auto Show the 2013 Acura RDX will be unveiled to the media during the press preview day. It is the first time the model has been seen in full production form after a pre-production prototype was showcased earlier this year in Detroit.

A turbocharged 2.3-liter 4-cylinder unit that was used in the previous generation has been replaced with a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 engine. It produces 273 hp (203 kW / 277 PS) which is a jump of 33hp over the previous model and is mated with a brand new 6-speed automatic transmission that features a lock-up torque converter. The 2013 RDX will be available in either front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants.

The body has been aerodynamically enhanced from previous models and styling has evolved to make the RDX more SUV-like. It gets a set of new 5-spoke 18-inch wheels as standard which are attached to a MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension design.

Production will commence at the company's East Liberty plant in Ohio.
