The Malaysian government recently reached a deal to sell Proton to DRB-Hicom and a new report is indicating Lotus CEO Dany Bahar is looking for potential buyers for the British brand.

According to the London Sunday Times, Bahar is looking to team up with another company that would be willing to invest approximately £500 (€595 / $786) million to fund their future models including the Esprit, Elite and Eterne.

Information is scarce, but Genii Capital - the owners of the Lotus F1 team - is rumored to be interested. They are reportedly close to making a decision and an announcement could be made within months.
