According to a recent report, the Jeep Liberty and Compass replacements will be launched in 2013. They are expected to ride on the CUSW platform that underpins the 2013 Dodge Dart.
The Dodge Dart was recently unveiled at the North American International Auto Show, but a new report is indicating it is just the harbinger of things to come.
According to USA Today, the model's CUSW (Compact U.S. Wide) platform will underpin the replacements for the Jeep Liberty, Jeep Compass, Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The latter part is interesting because it contradicts previous rumors the Avenger would be axed, but nothing is official as of yet.
Both Jeeps will reportedly be launched next year and Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne said one of them will be "a trail-rated, full-blooded Jeep that has its origins in the architecture of a sports car."
In related news, Chrysler is considering an entry-level hatchback - dubbed the 100 - which could also be exported as a Lancia if approved for production.
