BMW has announced plans to introduce the M Performance Automobile sub-brand at the Geneva Motor Show.

BMW has announced plans to introduce the M Performance Automobile sub-brand at the Geneva Motor Show.

Set to include models such as the M550d xDrive and X6 M50d, M Performance Automobile's lineup promises to offer "exclusive engine variants, noticeably enhanced agility and outstanding precision on the road." Additional information is limited, but the lineup will be launched this spring and consist of a variety of models with petrol and diesel engines.  All-wheel drive will also play a "significant role" in establishing the brand.

According to BMW M GmbH President Dr Friedrich Nitschke, "We are targeting our efforts at customers looking for more emotionality and more performance, but who don't want to forgo the everyday usability of their cars."
