Lexus has unveiled the 2013 LX 570 in Detroit.
Like the facelifted Land Cruiser, the LX has a revised exterior with new bumpers, restyled mirrors and LED-infused headlights. There's also a spindle grille and 20-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin features an Entune infotainment system, dark chrome accents and mahogany wood trim. Other highlights include an additional 120V outlet and an Easy Access system which retracts the steering wheel when the ignition is turned off.
Power comes from a 5.7-liter V8 engine with 383 hp (286 kW / 388 PS) and 403 lb-ft (546 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission which is paired to a four-wheel drive system with a Torsen limited-slip locking center differential.
To tackle the toughest terrain, the SUV is outfitted with a Crawl Control feature that "provides optimum throttle and brake modulation when maneuvering over rough, uneven or difficult surfaces." There's also a new Multi-Terrain Select system which optimizes performance based on conditions selected by the driver. Lastly, the Turn Assist function applies braking pressure to the inside rear wheel for tighter turning circles.
