It's a chilly 25° F (-4° C) in Detroit, but Ford will reportedly unveil the 2013 Shelby GT500 Convertible at the North American International Auto Show on January 9th.

Destined to battle the Camaro ZL1 Convertible, the GT500 will feature a supercharged 5.8-liter V8 with 650 hp (485 kW / 659 PS) and 600 lb-ft (813 Nm) of torque. It will be connected to a six-speed manual transmission which has been upgraded to handle the engine's impressive output.

We can also expect revised styling and 19- / 20-inch wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G:2 tires.
