Ford Racing has released a new video which provides are pretty good overview of the 2012 Focus ST-R.

If you were shocked at the Focus ST-R's $98,995 (€75,880 / £63,145) price tag, here's a video that details the car's racing equipment.

As Andy Vrenko explains, the exterior closely resembles the Focus ST but the interior features a Recaro race seat, an AIM data acquisition system and an FIA-compliant roll cage.

To tackle the toughest racing competition, the car has been equipped with a sport-tuned suspension, high-performance brakes and a limited-slip differential.

Power comes from a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine that is connected to a six-speed manual transmission with a Ford Racing clutch. Performance specifications haven't been released, but the engine has a revised ECU and a custom exhaust system.
