Nissan has teased the new Pathfinder Concept ahead of its planned unveiling at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. Although very little can be concluded from this first teaser, which we have slightly lightened, it adds a little further substance to the initial announcement.

The design lines and "dramatic aerodynamic body" can barely be made out. Fortunately, we got a first look at the full production prototype last week when our eagle-eyed spies caught it testing on the road.

The concept will feature seating for seven people with plenty of cargo space and a four-wheel-drive system. Under the body, the new SUV will ride on a new platform.

The new Nissan Pathfinder will hit the showroom in the fall of 2012.
