Sources suggest that the new Pathfinder will use a version of Nissan's FF-L (Front-engine, Front-Wheel-Drive, Large) platform and not the F-Alpha platform that underpins the current generation model

The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder has been caught for the first time by our eagle eyed spies whilst testing on US Soil.

Sources suggest that the new Pathfinder will use a version of Nissan's FF-L (Front-engine, Front-Wheel-Drive, Large) platform and not the F-Alpha platform that underpins the current generation model. The FF-L platform already underpins the Murano and Quest.

The Pathfinder will take a more aggressive and powerful design in comparison to the sleeker Murano crossover, although there is no need to speculate the styling for too long. Earlier today, Nissan announced we will get a preview of the styling when the Japanese manufacturer unveils the Pathfinder concept at the Detroit Motor Show next month.
