Honda will unveil the new 2013 Accord Coupe Concept at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show next month, a small attempt to grab some of the limelight from their sister brand Acura who also announced their own array of concepts today.

The new coupe will preview a new aggressive and dynamic styling direction for the new Honda Accord Coupe and the Japanese automaker has confirmed the model will progress to production status when sales begin in the fall of 2012.

No further details have been released at this stage but if previous reports are correct, we can expect to find a plug-in hybrid system working with its 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine. The power output is rumoured to total 161 hp (120 kW / 163 PS) and will enable the model to travel up to 15 miles on electricity alone.
