Legendary automotive designer Lorenzo Ramaciotti has been tapped to create a new styling language for Chrysler and Lancia.

The name may not ring a bell, but Ramaciotti is a former Pininfarina stylist who helped to pen models such as the Ferrari F430, 550 Maranello and 612 Scaglietti.

Speaking with Bloomberg, Ramaciotti said "We are trying to find an international [design] language, which could have a place both here in Italy and in the U.S." He added, "We don't want to do pure badge-engineering" and "[Chrysler and Lancia] should be global in sharing platforms and strategies without dulling the product line."
