In a recent interview, Dodge CEO Reid Biglund announced the Caliber replacement will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in January.

Speaking with The Detroit News, Biglund said the model will not be called the Hornet. He declined to mention the car's name, but said "I've never been more excited about a new car than I am about the new compact. It fills a significant hole in the product portfolio."

As we have previously reported, the model is expected to ride on a modified version of the Compact Wide architecture. Power will likely be provided by a 1.4-liter MultiAir engine that develops 101 hp (75 kW /102 PS) to 173 hp (129 kW / 175 PS).
