The Mitsubishi Eclipse was recently put out to pasture, but a new report is indicating a successor could be right around the corner.

Speaking with Ward's Auto, Greg Adams - Mitsubishi's North American vice president of marketing and product planning - hinted the Eclipse "always comes back around sooner or later." That's not exactly a confirmation, but speculation suggests the Toyota FT-86 / Scion FR-S Subaru BRZ could renew interest in affordable coupes which would help to build a business case for an Eclipse revival.

In related news, Adams said the company could introduce a Galant replacement but nothing has been green-lighted as of yet.
