Suzuki Swift Sport debuts in Frankfurt

Set to go on sale in October, the Swift Sport is powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 136 PS (100 kW / 134 hp) and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque.

Suzuki's partnership with Volkswagen is on the rocks, but that hasn't stopped them from unveiling the 2012 Swift Sport in Frankfurt.

Set to go on sale in October, the model is distinguished by a new front bumper, revised side skirts and a roof-mounted spoiler. Other highlights include HID headlights, a sport-tuned suspension, a dual exhaust system and exclusive 17-inch aluminum wheels.

Inside, there's a new five-gauge instrument cluster, sport seats and alloy pedals.

Power comes from an 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 136 PS (100 kW / 134 hp) and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed manual gearbox which enables the car to average 44.1 mpg UK (6.4 L/100km) while having CO2 emissions of 147 g/km.
