The partnership between Volkswagen and Suzuki is souring as the former company is blaming the latter of violating their original agreement.

In a review, Volkswagen found Suzuki infringed on their cooperation when they announced plans to purchase diesel engines from Fiat. Saying this is "regrettable," VW will give Suzuki several weeks to "remedy" the situation.

The recent tension started when Volkswagen published their annual report, in March, which said Suzuki was an "associate" and VW can "significantly influence financial and operating policy decisions" at the Japanese automaker. Suzuki took offense and the two sides have been bickering ever since.
