Porsche has released a new video which details the design process behind the 918 RSR.

In the clip, design manager Anthony Hatter reveals the car was heavily influenced by the GT1, Carrera GT and 911 GTR Hybrid. Interestingly, as Hatter explains the construction process, you can see "im CAD Hat's Passt" at the 2:00 mark. This translates into "In CAD it fits" which is sort of an inside joke from the engineers to the construction team who were complaining the pieces weren't fitting together.

As we have previously reported, the 918 RSR has a 563 PS (414 kW / 555 hp) V8 engine and two 102 PS (75 kW / 101 hp) electric motors. This gives the car a combined output of 767 PS (564 kW / 757 hp), which should ensure it is fairly quick.
