Jeep has announced the 2012 Wrangler will be offered with a new five-speed automatic transmission and 3.6-liter V6 engine.
Jeep has announced a series of upgrades for the 2012 Wrangler.
Since the model received a facelift last year, the changes mainly involve a new 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engine which replaces the previous 3.8-liter unit. It produces 285 hp (212 kW / 289 PS) and 260 lb-ft (352 Nm) of torque - an increase of 83 hp (62 kW / 84 PS) and 23 lb-ft (31 Nm) of torque. Additionally, the engine can be mated to a new five-speed automatic transmission which enables the Wrangler to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 8.4 seconds.
Lastly, the model gains additional axle ratios and a body-color hardtop on the Rubicon.
