Morgan is developing a high-performance electric sportscar prototype which will be unveiled in early 2012.

Created as part of the company's +E program, the concept will ride on an aluminum chassis - from the Aero Supersport - and feature a lithium-ion battery which sends power to a Zytek-sourced electric motor. Interestingly, the car will be equipped with a manual transmission for improved acceleration, a higher top speed and more driver involvement.

According to Morgan's Operations Director Steve Morris, "This is an exciting investigation into the potential for a zero-emissions Morgan with near supercar performance. We aim to make this a realistic concept that could lead to further developments [production] if demand and other factors prove favorable."
